Digging for Treasure

Or in this case one Strawberry Shortcake watch.

I pick up youngest kidlet from preschool yesterday. Halfway to get the oldest, she announces, "I don't have my watch."

I ask a few questions, ending on, "Do you know where you took it off?"

"Yes."

I say, "Where?"

"I buried it in the sandbox."

Much wailing ensues over said watch.

We rush back to preschool. The sandbox is BIG. Especially when looking for something sort of small. She had no clue where she buried it. *sigh* so we didn't find it.

I guess I can look on the bright side. The kidlet won't make a good pirate.

May the muses have shovels

Aw, my niece is a Strawberry Shortcake fanatic - she would have gone nuts if she lost an SS watch. I made the mistake of telling her that her little plastic ring was a "magic" ring one time and she was inconsolable when she lost it. Telling her that, "sometimes magic rings disappear because they need to find new little girls to share their magic with - it is the natural of magic ring" did NOT help. You are a great mommy!!!

Maybe someone found it and turned it in to the school? I could suggest the St. Anthony prayer. Not that I'm hugely devout, but St. Anthony seems willing to help me find lost items anyway.

LOL it was quite a day.

She did get a new watch and has guarded this one. *sigh* she's also taken to hanging her shoes up on the wall on curtain hook so she doesn't lose those.

Apparently the kids at her preschool have taken it as a challenge *blinks*. They go out to play and look for the thing for a while each day.

Mo, LOL four year olds are a mess. I'll take digging for a watch over the shaved tummy *nods*.

LOL Karen, that's funny. I'm glad my kidlet didn't think it was magic. The wailing would have been louder.

Thanks Lauren, Mary, and Desiree! I'll have to try St. Anthony's.

LOL...oh mercy...my youngest is forever misplacing his shoes! Doesn't matter that he has a half dozen pair or we tell him to line them up. *Sigh*

LOl..glad she's located a safe spot for hers.

Aww, poor kid... But cute story, though. She'll love it if you tell it to her when she's all grown-up.

What kind of new watch did she get?
