Happy New Year and to my hero

I hope the New Year brings lots of goodness your way.

To the inspiration in some way of every hero I've ever written (and who I know reads this blog), Happy Anniversary! Here's to another 14 years and more.

From editing land

Know what these are? Black eyed peas. My Mom was a firm believer in eating them on New Year's Day for luck. I wondered how many people out there abide by that tradition? Chime in, let me know if you eat black eyed peas for luck on New Years.

May the muses have luck, lots of it

A whirlwind of a day

Dinah's Christmas Desire released from Loose Id early this morning. Caused a big squeal when I woke up (after the kids slept LATE). Especially realizing..."Gee, I have two releases on Loose Id's home page at the same time." Isn't my cover gorgeous?!

Then, I open mail to a note from a friend (thanks Jenna!) informing me the CAPA nominations were out.

Dinah's Dark Desire
has been nominated for a 2006 CAPA for Contemporary Erotic Romance!

I've been snoopy dancing all day long.

Congrats to the other nominees!

I know I'll be posting when Dinah's Christmas Desire comes out, which is very soon...

But I wanted to take the time before life gets crazy and wish everyone a joyful, wonderful holiday filled with family and friends.

Legacies and Spells

Solstice Spell is out!!

I'm so excited. *grins* Rupe and Gill were a joy to write. Nothing like a squee before Christmas. And I'll have another squee later in the week...

I've been scanning family pictures. It's amazing how many treasures I found, which aren't worth anything to anyone else, but are priceless to me. I found pictures of my maternal grandmother and three of her brothers. A picture from 1909 of my paternal grandmother as a baby and her father. It's really a slide of some kind, really heavy. A picture of my Dad, who hated having pictures taken so there are few of them, with my maternal grandmother. I've been like a kid at Christmas as I scan. My hubby is trying to create a huge photo library of both of families.

Tonight's the night

I'll be chatting with Flesa Black and friends! Desiree Erotique, Anne Douglas, Melinda Barron, and Isabella Snow are joining us tonight in the Realms of Love Castle at 9 PM EST for a little talking and a few prizes. Join us for the Winter gab fest.

My friend Flesa, just had a release, Joey to the World. I've read parts of it, and in true Flesa style, it rocks.

Dreaming pays off

You'll find out why...very soon.

I finished Darkly Dreaming Dexter by Jeff Lindsay. It's not for the faint of heart but it's really good. I've become addicted to the series, Dexter on Showtime, which is based on the books. There's a lot of dark humor and the characterization in both is excellent. I can't wait, the next to the last episode of the season comes on tonight.

TLC is running a show about Crazy Christmas Lights, and one episode takes place in Richmond. One of the houses, we went to a lot last year. It's beautiful *G*.

My buddy, Mary Stella, blogged about what a good book, Hallowed Ground by Lori Armstrong is. I read Blood Ties back...a year or so ago and blogged about it. Hallowed Ground is definitely on my to be bought list. If it's half as good as Blood Ties, you can't lose.

Dreaming

Keep your fingers crossed. I'm hoping for some good news about something soon.

I had placed a hold at the library on Darkly Dreaming Dexter by Jeff Lindsay. It came in today. I've been watching (and loving) the show, Dexter, which is based on the book. It's a good reward for writing *G*.

Tag: Holiday Questions

Lauren tagged me! But I cheated, kinda because a friend sent this around last week so it was already filled out *G*

1. Egg Nog or Hot Chocolate? Egg Nog to be festive. Hot Chocolate when I’m chilly.

2. Does Santa wrap presents or just sit them under the tree? Santa doesn’t wrap. He just leaves them out under the tree.

3. Colored lights or white on tree/house? Colored lights. Lots of ‘em and blinking.

4. Do you hang mistletoe? I haven’t hung it before.

5. When do you put your decorations up? I love to do it the day or weekend after Thanksgiving. Didn’t work out this year.

6. What is your favorite holiday dish (excluding dessert)? Potato salad

7. Favorite Holiday memory as a child? Getting up extremely early and sitting with my parents talking. Also laying under the tree and staring up at the lights blinking on and off (still love to do that).

8. When and how did you learn the truth about Santa? Got up to peek and saw my parents putting things under the tree.

9. Do you open a gift on Christmas Eve? We do.

10. How do you decorate your Christmas Tree? Lots of lights and ornaments. Approx 2 strands of garland (Uhh maybe three. the kids piled on the garland this year). A star at the top. We’ll probably still be unbreakable this year so no glass bulbs. No icicles due to kitty *sigh* (haven’t had then since I got married and acquired an indoor pet).

11. Snow! Love it or Dread it? Love it when it first falls!

12. Can you ice skate? I’ve ice skated once. I didn’t kill myself or break anything so it was good.

13. Do you remember your favorite gift? A kitchen set I got when I was five or six.

15. What is your favorite Holiday Dessert? Pumpkin pie and Cool Whip and of course, Christmas cookies!

16. What is your favorite holiday tradition? Decorating the tree and house

17. What tops your tree? A plastic star, which looks like painted glass

18. Which do you prefer giving or Receiving? Giving. Love seeing their face when they open it.

19. What is your favorite Christmas Song? Snoopy versus the Red Baron (aka Christmas Bells). Also love Angels we have heard on high, The first Noel, Away in a Manger, Carol of the Bells. LOL are very few songs I don’t like.

20. Candy Canes! Yuck or Yum? YUM.

I tag Jenn, Maureen and Melissa. *G* I'm spreading the love.

Magic Snow

I went out with friends to a mall on Saturday night (along with most of the town). They had Magic Snow.

It was neat, they pumped it out of overhead vents. It looks and falls like real snow. Then, it disappears. I was impressed. I think I'm going to take the kidlets over there one night.

On the subject of magic, did I mention The Collector 1: Magical Chances was selected as a Recommended Read by Fallen Angel Reviews?! I'm so thrilled. It also received four cups from Coffee Time Romance. Reviews are rolling in. I love hearing what people think of my writing.
