13 things that make me laugh by Mechele

Thanks for the help finding links to the hubby.

There are so many things that make me laugh LOL. I can't list them all.

1. My youngest. She has an off the wall sense of humor. We often get the giggles together.

2. My hubby. Yes, you still make me laugh.

3.
Larry Miller's The five stages of drinking

4. Pachelbel bedtime

5. Pachelbel Rant

6. Jeff Dunham with Peanut and Jose Jalapeno (on a stick)

7. Chad Vader

8. Citibank Father/Son commercial

9. Citibank Identity Theft protection

10. Paul Thorn with Joanie, the Jehovah Witness Stripper

(It's not politically correct but it does make me laugh.)

11. A man Named Jayne by the Great Luke Ski

12.
Tom Smith's I'm on Firefly

13. The Great Luke Ski with You might be a Trekkie if...

Bonus: It doesn't make me laugh but I love this song. We bought it *G* along with a few of his others.

Veterans 2: Nothing to Lose

Isn't it lovely? *strokes it*

Let the good times roll

Veterans 2: Nothing to Lose is live on both Amazon and Barnes and Noble.

That means it could be spotted in your local bookstore any day now. And can be ordered from most any bookstore with the title and ISBN number: 9781596326750

I wrote 1 K yesterday even with everyone home. Managed to critique some wonderful new material from my critique partner, Melissa Lopez.

And have written 2 K today.

I need to find a summer schedule where I can write and have fun with the kidlets, too. I have to finish up Dark Raiders and really need to start the next Settler's Mine. I'd like to write 1-2 K every day.

May the muses have schedules to keep.

Iron Man and Round 3 voting open in TRS Diva

I got to see Iron Man last night! I had been thrilled by the previews and the movie didn't disappoint. Robert Downey, Jr. did an excellent job as Tony Stark. The chemistry between Stake and Pepper was palpable. I'm eagerly awaiting Iron Man 2.

Round 3 voting is now open in the TRS Diva Contest.

May the muses have tortured heroes

TGIF

It's been a busy week and I think I'll be saying that for a long while. The kids get out of school in a month.

The proposal is off to an editor. Now I bite nails and work frantically to finish Dark Raiders. I'm doing something I've never ever done before on Dark Raiders. I'm writing backwards. *blinks*

Yes, see, I cut some things from this one scene after deciding this information should be revealed later. The revelation scene played out in my mind. I went ahead and fleshed it out. The scene before the revelation scene started speaking. So, I wrote that scene. Then, the scene before that came clear in my mind so I started working on that.

I may end up writing the first part of this book backward. Long as it works, fine with me. And as I couldn't sleep last night, thinking about how this whole book will play out...I think it's working so far. I'm so eager to get to certain parts of this book. And get it finished. Ryder, Kolos, and Java won't shut up!

70 Days of Sweat ends today. I really didn't think I would hit my goal for a while. But late last night, I made it. Over the course of the challenge, I wrote 70 K. Hurrah for Sven!

Yes, something is coming... Just wait until I can show you!

May the muses be backward

13 songs that make me think about other things by Mechele

1. Pour Some Sugar on Me by Def Leppard. Yes, it is my favorite song. It takes me back to a time when a shy girl who wasn’t sure being smart was a good thing went to Governor’s School and actually went out and danced during the dances. Didn’t care what people thought, which as a youngish teen, was an awesome accomplishment. And guess what? When I hear that song, I run to dance, no matter where I am.

2. Friends by Michael W. Smith—makes me think of high school. I used the lyrics in a speech and can still remember looking at the sea of faces, some I’d known for a dozen years and most I’d not see again for along time. Vogue by Madonna does, too, but I remember going out with friends and LOL voguing.

3. I will be here by Stephen Curtis Chapman—the hubby. My sister sung this at our wedding. Lost in Your Eyes by Debbie Gibson is another one. We smooched a lot to that song *G*

4. Deuces are Wild by Aerosmith—I rarely use songs for characters but for some reason this is Darryl’s song. Darryl is in one of my under the bed books that I need to rewrite. He’s an awesome character, I see so clearly. And I will one day…and tell his buddy Jeff’s story, too. There’s a four part connected book thing going there.

5. Dead or Alive by Bon Jovi—Deadliest catch! I can’t hear that song without picturing boats on the Bering Sea

6. Kiki Kangaroo by Steve Weeks—the youngest. It just suits her. It always has.

7. Any song about Harry Potter—the oldest. She’s obsessed most days. She needs to find more books to read LOL. There are a few parody songs about HP. She loves all the one she can hear *G*

8. She’s an Eagle when she Flies by Dolly Parton—my grandmother and mother. They both went through a lot and had a lot of inner strength.

9. Coal Miner’s Daughter by Loretta Lynn—makes me think of my dad. He loved Loretta Lynn

10. Desperado by The Eagles—I think of cowboys… One lone figure riding the range.

11. Ticks by Brad Paisley—I want to write a story about this song badly. It’s got such a sensual beat. Characters talk to me every time I hear it.

12. Kryptonite by 3 Doors Down—I think of Sherrilyn Kenyon. I think because Ash liked Three Doors Down.

13. Don’t want to Miss a Thing by Aerosmith—My sister, mom, and me took a road trip to Savannah when my nephew decided to move there. We heard this song constantly. Every time I hear it, I think about that trip.

Something's coming

that makes me do the whole squeal thing. I can't wait to unveil it...

All three chapters of Dark Raiders and the synopsis are now clean and ready to go. *fingers crossed*

I'm off to write on Dark Raiders.

A chilly Monday

I thought it was supposed to be spring?

I posted at Ladies of the Club on a true heroine who passed away today.

Voting continues at TRS Studio Diva Contest. Don't forget to go vote! You have until Friday to vote on the excerpts.

I've worked on chapters 1 & 2 of Dark Raiders. Have done a critique partner's pass through of chapter 3 (Thanks Melissa! Great critique) but haven't going through myself. I hope to do that tonight, make a pass through the synopsis and get that off. Then it is on to furiously writing on the rest of Dark Raiders. I'd like to finish it in a couple of months. And do more submitting...

13 things about me by Mechele

Jenna Leigh tagged me. It’s only supposed to be seven. Consider the extra six a bonus.

Tell seven random and/or interesting things about myself. Get five blog buddies to play, too and link to their blogs. Don’t forget to post the rules!

1. I sometimes get caught up in online drama. I don’t usually post but I read a lot. I’ve been following the whole RT saga with interest.
2. Before Diva Kitty, I hadn’t had a cat since I was in the single digits. She’s my first indoor feline. Boy, she’s taught me well…
3. I’ve been with my husband over half of my life. Yeah, he’s my romance hero.
4. I tease my hubby for being a geek/nerd a lot. Truth is, I’m probably as much a geek as he is.
5. I’m still reading Duma Key. I’m really enjoying it but I’ve been so busy, reading time has been cramped. It’s my car book that I read when I’m waiting in line to pick up the girls. Why yes, that’s why I go up there 10 minutes early *G*
6. I do think I’d faint if I met Stephen King. He’s well, the King of writers in my opinion.
7. My whole family now has the cold cooties I had last week.
8. Several nine year olds will be descending here this weekend for a sleepover wizard party. We’ll be decorating wizard robes and watching a Harry Potter movie. I think my oldest might vibrate she’s so excited.
9. We love it when the school gets in the eggs that soon become chicks. I think we went every day they had them last year. We’re going to see them today I hope.
10. The youngest wants to raise a chick. I don’t think Diva Kitty could be trusted. Not to mention, a chicken in the ‘Burbs?
11. I’m having a big debate where to go next in my career. Talking to anyone who’ll listen. Mostly the hubster *muah*. It’s not that I’m unhappy where I am in my career. Just think it’s time I see what else there could be.
12. I like Hannah Montana. Eeek. I admitted it. I find the show humorous and I like her voice. It’s strange when XM beeps and you click over to a Hannah Montana song even when the girls aren’t with you.
13. I’m mystery reader today for my oldest’s class. Heh heh she doesn’t know…

I tag:

Mari

Lyn Cash

Divas, Bitter Love, and 4.5 Ribbons

The Romance Studio is having their first TRS Studio Diva Contest. Go read the entries and vote!

The first review is in for Settler's Mine 3: The Woman and it's a good one! Yipeee. 4.5 ribbons from Romance Junkies. Natasha said, "Mechele Armstrong wrote this intricate relationship in such a way as to be realistic and compelling. Add in a deceitful stepbrother as a villain hell bent on Kiann’s destruction and readers will utterly enjoy this novel." Hee. I'm tickled.

I'm over half way through tweaking Bitter Love. LOL I can't believe how much of a smart aleck Amaretto is. It's grown over 1000 words to 30500. And I know there is one scene I want to write.

Next up is finishing the proposal on Dark Raiders.

I'd like to get both in this week. Hence this short post :)

May the muses have their work cut out for them

Have I mentioned?

I hate colds. *sigh*

Needless to say I haven't been as productive as I wanted to be. But did finish writing Dark Raider's chapters and synopsis. Need to finish tweaking Bitter Love and Dark Raiders and get them both out.

Today, I'm going to celebrate the newly 9 year old's birthday. Hard to believe.

May the muses have fun times

13 harsh realities of being back from RT by Mechele

Thanks to the hubster for the idea of the TT subject.

1. Kid’s fighting. I don’t think I was home an hour and they were arguing.
2. Laundry. OMG I had Mount Everest.
3. Dog walking. She looked at me within minutes of being back with that, “Is it time for a walk yet” look.
4. Housework. The hubby said I could say he did dishes while I was gone but hadn’t touched them since I got home. LOL He’s actually still helping. But one day, you’re signing books and the next you’re sweeping floors. No justice, I tell you.
5. Kitty pooper scooping *sigh*.
6. The routine. I had all of one night to recover and than bam was thrust back into my routine.
7. Cooties. I think Melissa sent me cyber cooties. I have a head cold. Uggh and *achoooo*
8. Promotion. Had several guest blogs to pen, a newsletter to write, and stuff do as soon as I returned home.
9. Writing. Came home and started working on my proposal. *cough* I gutted what I had before and have now worked back up to three chapters. It’s scary…a branch out of wings, so I know I need to get busy on getting it ready.
10. Needless to say to write, the butt must plant firmly in the chair *sigh*. Did I mention this proposal is scary?
11. Birthday party planning. The oldest has her 9th birthday coming up. She wanted a sleepover party.
12. Contest judging. I’m judging in a contest and trying to get my entries done.
13. Did I mention the scary proposal? And finding a home for Seek and you Shall find? And tweaking Bitter Love to get it into the editor?
