An unofficial NaNoWriMo Winner

Who will always stay unofficial. I didn't realize when I signed up for it, you had to work on something from scratch.

But, I met the goal of 50 K in the month of November (actually close to 60 because I worked on Zelda's story the first week of November before I switched to Night's Journey). So, in my book...it was a great motivator!

Two down, one to go

And I'm STUFFED. Uggh.

We had a nice turkey dinner last night at home. My daughters and I made pumpkin pie in the morning and watched the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade. Twas nice.

Today was my family's Thanksgiving, which was fun, and Sunday is the hubby's family's.

I'm working working working hard, too. Blood Lines: Night's Journey is already to the point where I'm going, "I gotta finish it!" I'm enjoying the writing of it. I'm hopeful sometime in the first week of December, it will be done. Uh, it might be a bit over 60 K. LOL We'll see.

Your first

They say you always remember your first. And for book reviews that's true. Probably because I always sweat that first one. I remember each and every first review for each one of my books.

My other author ego, Lany of Melany Logen, recently received her first review from TRS. They liked it *snoopy dances*.

The Collector 1: Magical Chances also received its first review this weekend. And it was good! Annie Deb of JERR gave it four stars. She said, "In The Collector 1: Magical Chances, Chloe’s adventure takes the reader on a wild roller coaster ride. This is an action packed, HOT romance! The characters bring out your emotions once you get to know them. At first, I didn’t like Chloe, but as soon as I realized why she was so desperate for money I was her biggest fan. She is strong and independent. Drake is sexy, romantic, and truly the lover we all want. The scene where they break the table during sex is incredible. From the beginning, you know these two love each other with the type of love that will survive any adversity. Rob is just bad all the way through. I highly recommend this book for lovers of erotic romance with a touch of magic."

Yes, happiness has ensued.

Baby needs a new pair of shoes

Actually, I got a pair today. They look so white *blinks*. And my feet aren't adjusted to them yet *sigh*.

A friend of mine, Flesa Black, had a release from Loose Id this week. Legacy is the story of a woman, Grace, going home to confront the ghosts of the past and the man she can't get out her head, Nick. I happen to have been lucky enough to have critiqued this novel. *Grins* so I'll be evil and say, "It's very good!" Flesa's such an excellent writer. And Nick's darn hot.

Hi Ho Hi Ho

I've been working hard on the writing. Last week I wrote about 11,000 words on Zelda's story. Not sure how long it's going to be yet.

This week, I have shifted gears and am working on Night's Journey. I wrote about 4000 words on it so far.

Yesterday we went to a bookfair. They are so dangerous to my pocketbook. The kids love books as much as I do. The oldest has started the first Harry Potter. I'm excited for her to be reading books I have.

When characters get bossy

Dear Zelda,

While I appreciate you want me to write your story, I have deadlines *points to inbox* on other stories and stories to get back to Mel, my writing partner of Melany Logen *again points to inbox*. I know that I had promised to get you to a certain point, but you keep ADDING scenes to go before it. I am excited about Settler's Mine 1: (who knows what I'll name it), but you can't keep hogging my writing time. And making the other characters nervous is so not funny.

Sincerely,
the humble author
